Wow, we really have been working toward this point for a
year already! We sat down and figured
out that yes, we really could afford to build now with a bit of equity
shifting. We didn’t want to wait until
we were retired to enjoy the peace & quiet at the lake. Had a great mini-getaway to Quebec City –
just Ibby & I – and we dreamed and planned on outdoor patios over many
pitchers of sangria. It was nice to
connect together as a couple without whiny texting teenagers! We bought our first accessory for the new
cottage on this trip – a pillow with a hung-over panda which we naturally named
Sangria!
Jaime moved from his youth group home of 10 years to an
adult facility. He’s now closer to us in
Whitby, but it was a huge change for him – new housemates, new staff, new
school. And of course new routines – for
us too! We spent a lot of time helping
him with this life transition, including the mounds of paperwork involved.
